How to get a DOS BOOT DISK

What will you need ?

- A blank 1440k disk
- Any Windows95 or Windows98 machine

How to:

- On the Windows machine open a DOS PROMPT window. If you don't find an icon for that, click the Start button, then choose Run, type COMMAND and press [Enter].
- Format the floppy, and transfer the hidden DOS system files to it, by typing: FORMAT A: /S [Enter]
- Wait until the disk is ready.
- Copy some utilities you will need: FORMAT, FDISK and EDIT. You will find them in the C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND folder. You can do this by dragging them using the Windows Explorer, or by typing:
copy c:\windows\command\format.* a: [Enter]
copy c:\windows\command\fdisk.* a: [Enter]
copy c:\windows\command\edit.* a: [Enter]

By the way: I don't need to tell you to change A: or C: to match whatever your actual drive letters are, do I?

OR.....

At www.bootdisk.com you can find a MS-DOS 6.22 boot disk generator (boot622.exe).
But, as I said before, MS-DOS is owned by Microsoft Corporation and I have nothing to do with these guys.....
