High Performance Buildings Company, R-Zero, Joins International Ultraviolet Association

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–R-Zero, a company dedicated to developing hospital-grade UV-C disinfection technologies to reduce the spread of infectious disease, today announced its official membership with the International Ultraviolet Association, Inc. (IUVA), the leading UV educational and advocacy organization. Notably, the IUVA has recently joined the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) “Network of Experts” program, where IUVA members will provide expertise to support the agency’s activities.

“Our members represent UV experts from around the world, and continue to play a vital role in efforts to provide advocacy on the use of UV technology to the education, industry, research and public policy sectors worldwide.”

A clinically tested and proven technology, UV-C has been used for over a century to disinfect air, water, and surfaces, and has long been the gold standard in hospitals.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to work alongside the best scientists and UV experts in the world to advance IUVA’s mission,” said Grant Morgan, CEO and co-founder of R-Zero. “As a member and supporter of IUVA, we aim to continue increasing awareness and access to UV technology, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the quality of human life. We believe UV-C is a critical tool to fight not only the novel coronavirus today, but all pathogens that threaten human health.”

R-Zero’s flagship UV device, Arc (proven to destroy 99.99% of pathogens) is the first hospital-grade, germicidal UV system that is both financially and operationally accessible to the mass market. As a member of IUVA, R-Zero aims to advance the standards and regulations that enable broad distribution and application of hospital-grade UV products, like Arc. As part of R-Zero’s affiliation with IUVA, CEO and co-founder, Grant Morgan, has also joined the organization’s Coronavirus Response Task Force.

“The IUVA’s mission is to advance the science, engineering, and applications of ultraviolet technologies in order to enhance the quality of human life,” said Dr. Ron Hofmann, Professor at the University of Toronto, and President of the IUVA. “Our members represent UV experts from around the world, and continue to play a vital role in efforts to provide advocacy on the use of UV technology to the education, industry, research and public policy sectors worldwide.”
